Issues before using Timesheet Xpress...
Prior to their use of Timesheet Xpress, AIT Spatial Ltd. recorded time and activities on spreadsheet based timesheets and expenses. At the end of the month one of the directors would collate the monthly timesheets from the staff and calculate the amount of time spent on each job. This information was critical to the running of the business in order to raise invoices based on hourly rates.
When collating the information, there were many issues – including simple things like different abbreviations used by various staff for the same client/project work – this made comparisons of logged time difficult to compare. budget “over runs” where a job may have been estimated / costed to take perhaps 3 days, and in actual fact it may have taken 25 hours – it was very difficult for AIT Spatial to trap and flag this information through the spreadsheet recording methodology.
Trying to ensure job estimates for clients were accurate was a task considered to be almost impossible without literally hours of tedious manual analysis. A decision to streamline this business critical process was taken and a solution for recording time accurately in order to manage costs was sought this would free up valuable internal time to spend on business critical revenue generation and billable work.
